Honestly one of my favorite joys in life is discovering an awesome item in a second-hand store. And as you can probably tell by my first picture...
I am very stoked about my latest find.
A few weeks back, my boyfriend and I took a day trip up to Oceanside, CA. It was my first time in the area, so my boyfriend decided to take me on an adventure and visit all his favorite 'secret spots' in the area. One of those places happened to be this vintage shop called Captain's Helm.
This store had such an amazing mix of vintage clothing and accessories, as well as products from brands such as P.F. Candles Co and By Rosie Jane . And as I was scoping out their shop, I couldn't help but notice a little furry, gray sleeve poking out of one of the clothing racks. Turns out it was a brand new Patagonia jacket that I had been dreaming of for a while. What makes this even sweeter is the fact that the jacket was in mint condition and only cost $40! That is only a fraction of what most Patagonia products cost. (But if you do have the money to buy directly from Patagonia do so, because this company supports amazing values and initiatives!). And I am so glad to have found this jacket when I had to be able to brace the fierce winter that San Diego has been in this past month (and by fierce I mean back-to-back rainy days and temperatures dropping below 60 degrees).
So two lessons I have learned:
1) Patagonia has some of the best jackets out there.
2) If you have an amazing 'secret spot' like this in SD please let me know!
(This verse has nothing to do with the post, but everything to do with what is happening today. I cannot continue to post without acknowledging the fact of what is happening today. And if you know me and would like to have a conversation discussing these things, please don't hesitate to reach me.)
