Self-care is everywhere in our culture, but what does it mean?
This has been a phrase that I have been wrestling with since I began making this blog post about self-care.
I realized that 1. Idk what it truly means 2. I definitely wasn’t practicing it myself. In the midst of frustration I finally allowed myself to rest and wrote this little piece in the process:
Through this wrestling I realized how important it is to show myself love in order to live my life to it’s fullest potential.
This process of self-care will look different for everyone and what might work for me might not work for you. But in light of Valentine’s Day, here are 14 ways I’d recommend to show love for yourself by:
Calling a friend/loved one
Deleting social media for a day
Cooking a healthy meal
Watching your favorite movie/show
Getting your ‘adulting’ chores done
Buying yourself fresh flowers
Basking in nature
Go on a ‘solo’ date
Take a nice shower with a candle
Going to sleep early
