Week of Outfits with The Good Trade

March 12, 2018 Jazmine Brown

Recently I had the opportunity to work with The Good Trade and illustrating what a typical week of sustainable outfits looks like for me. I was also able to include what my current favorite ethical brand and thrift store is, what made me interested in pursuing an ethical lifestyle, and what my fashion approach is:

"...I realized that my choices not only made an impact on myself, but on this planet and the people who lived in it...At the end of the day, I want to give others and myself grace. Switching to an intentional lifestyle is difficult. You mess up, get frustrated, feel guilty etc. The only important thing to focus on is trying."

“The average American makes 4.4 pounds of trash per day. But who wants to be average?”- @packagefreeshop ✨🦋 I received this lil’ package full of some awesome #zerowaste goodies, but also received a lil’ reminder that even packaging shouldn’t immediately be seen as trash.
It’s best to look at things like this and remember to try to divert waste wherever I can. For me that will look like reusing this box for a present for a friend.
Each of us can try to find creative ways to prevent everyday items from becoming waste or generating more waste in the first place.
But with all that said I ALWAYS want to emphasize that no one is perfect and every step you take is a huge win!! So let’s go out the and be #lowwaste conscious together. ✨🕊🌎
An old pic but I’ve noticed some new faces and wanted to say hey 👋🏽✨ (I haven’t done an introduction in a while so here we go) :

My name is Jazmine and I started this blog my freshman year of college (I guess now 4 years!?) It originally was a fashion blog that I used as a creative outlet. But after a year in, I learned about #labortrafficking and #fastfashion and knew I had to change. After a LONG journey and deep reflection/research, I’ve transitioned into becoming a sustainable fashion AND lifestyle blogger. I’m still figuring out things day-by-day and I want to empower others to do the same. We’re all figuring things out. So I’m glad you’re here and I can’t wait to walk out the #environmentaljustice journey together 🦋

P.S. I also deeply enjoy thrifting, learning about nature, talking about the enneagram, and watching BBC. I swear I do other things too hahah🤓
I’ve been a bit obsessed with these post-rain clouds 🌥 Here are a few of my faves 🕊🦢
