It's crazy to think it's already August.
But summer still isn't over, and the temps keep rising. So obviously I am trying to keep myself cool.
And what's cooler than wearing ethical clothing?
Ok, that was cheesy. But I couldn't create a more clever intro to talk about one of my favorite summer outfits that I have put together, with ethicality in mind.
So without further to do, here are some details of my 'cool' summer outfit:
Honestly, I have to give credit to my ex-roommate,Gabriella Masuda, for this amazing dress.
Before moving out, Gabby had downsized her wardrobe and let me have whatever I wanted from her discard pile. Luckily for me, this thrifted dress was in that pile.
As I had previously mentioned, I am not a huge fan of dresses. But I am trying to open myself to wearing them, especially a second-hand piece like this! I have worn this dress multiple times throughout the summer. And as I focus special attention to making a curated closet, this navy dress is perfect year-round and easy to layer. So yea ... me and dresses are friends now.
Woven basket purses have been all over IG, and I gotta say that I wanted one really badly. One day I decided to go through Poshmark, an app that allows people to buy/sell second-hand fashion, and look for said purse.
As soon as I logged into Poshmark, this purse popped up and I knew it was the one. Tbh it is pretty small, but i'll use it to either make a statement or don't need much to carry. Even so, I'm absolutely love it and plan on keeping it for a long time.
Handcrafted Double Hoops:
I can't stop wearing these beauties. They go with everything in my wardrobe and can even make a t-shirt + jeans combo look put together.
These handcrafted earrings were made in New York but sold in a local SD shop called Maven. Maven is a curated everyday goods + clothing store that primarily features independent designers and makers. When walking into the store, I can trust everything was created with care and that the designers had conducted fair trade practices. A few of my favorite brands Maven features are : Paloma Wool, Nu Swim, Lacausa, and Pansy Co.
Ok, I'll stop talking about Maven for now, but just know: Maven and these earrings have it going on.
Veja White Leather Shoes:
You guys... I found another obsession...
I found this brand after doing some research to replace my worn out converse with a fair trade alternative. And boy these shoes are a bang for their buck. I will definitely do a brand spotlight on these, but let me try to describe these shoes in a few words:
Fashionable. Affordable. High Quality. Effortless.
As you can tell I am very excited about these summer staples. However these staples will not be just for summer. I plan on only wearing these all year. So keep your eyes out for them in future posts!
What are your new wardrobe staples? Love any brands I mentioned?
Let me know!
