My friends and I have been looking forward to traveling to Palm Springs for months now. And it couldn't have happened during a better time.
The past few months have been exhausting for me and has left me feeling drab. I knew that spending a weekend in Palm Springs surrounded by friends and a fresh inspiration would be exactly what I needed.
But I was surprised by the extent Palm Springs had influenced me.
We decided to visit the places recommendated by others. This included the infamous Ace Hotel, the Moorten Botanical Gardens, and the Palm Springs Art Museum
Each revealed a different aspect of this desert oasis, but one thing was certain...
Palm Springs is a place were contradictions meet. Palm trees and Mountains. Mid-century Americana and various Native American cultures. Steel and Adobe. Luxury and Simplicity. It was as if the entire place appeared in perfect balance by the equal-opposites that interacted there.
You couldn't help but leave that place feeling inspired.
But with these inspirations aside.
I realized the extent of how ethical the wardrobes of my friends and myself have become. I knew we had a joint love of thrifting, but none of us realized that our outfits were nearly head-to-toe thrifted. Our past of fast fashion was truly fading from our wardrobe. On a personal level, It was a beautiful realization that I've been growing, that my journey has been a process, and though it's slow, it's happening.
How sweet it is to have my closest friends join me on this road of discovery and to watch their own journeys as well.
Our lifestyle choices truly impacts those around us.
I can't wait to see what will happen next.
But in the mean time, please enjoy the photos :-)
