After my last post, I found myself unsure with the direction I wanted to go with my blog. I knew that I wanted to showcase different outfits, talk about certain fashion trends, and maybe even throw in some things that I have been learning in my own life. But still something felt like it was missing.
In the past few months, I have been able to learn more about the horrors of fast-fashion and consumerism. But also about how we as a consumer hold the power to change the way the benefits of sustainable, ethical, and upcycled/second-hand fashion, and how we as a consumer hold the power to make a change in the way our society operates and affects our both the environment and others. Subsequently, I couldn't bear the weight of knowing all of this and not make a difference in the way that I think about fashion and how I play a part in this madness.
With that said, I will challenge myself to stop supporting fast-fashion and discover how to purchase ethically for the next year to come (more details in the "1 Year Challenge" tab). I'm excited to start this journey and to share it with all of you!
*I know my outfit is not very "summery", but we have been experiencing June gloom here in San Diego so tights and a dress are fitting!*
